What is it ?
The Productive Ward is a national concept aimed on improving systems and processes on wards. It is to help nurses and health care workers spend more time providing patient care by improving safety and efficiency. Hence, “releasing time to care” is exactly what the results should demonstrate.
Basically every thing on your ward should have a place it belongs to and every system should have a process.
Protect mealtimes by efficient delivery of meals to patients. This will allow time to assist feeding and assessing oral intake. Nurses should be able to complete nutritional documentation and make relevant referrals if needed.
Timely medication rounds with reduced interruptions. Benefits include less medication errors, less incident reporting and improved management of missed doses.
