“Eighteen adults, some of whom can only communicate through eye contact, have spent three years working with staff at Salford City Council and the former Primary Care Trust to tackle one of their biggest bugbears. Many of them understand what is being said about them but because people don’t know how they communicate, their views and wishes are not always taken into account.”
