In a nutshell: School age children in the United Kingdom could be offered vaccination against influenza from as early as next year after the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation  (JCVI) advised that the programme be extended to children aged 5 to less than 17 years. In a statement published on 24 July, the committee said that an extension was “highly likely to be cost effective and well within accepted cost effectiveness thresholds.”
